This 1.5-hour course may be taken by law-abiding citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law. It is designed to impart the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely and effectively.
Today’s technology allows pistol marksmanship training to be accomplished without the noise, cost, and exposure to lead particles associated with live-fire. This course is especially effective for newcomers to the shooting world as well as allowing children (12 and up, or 8 and up if adult attends as well) to learn gun safety.
A simulator pistol will be use during this course of instruction. The simulated pistol has a resetting trigger and it uses an infrared laser to indicate where students shots hit. The pistol has enough weight to feel realistic, it includes a removable simulated magazine and realistic sights. Computer software will be use to record shots and provide instant feedback for students and our instructor.
*No LIVE Firearms or Ammunition will be used in any fashion during this course of instruction. Those individuals interested in advancing their skills and live-fire exercises should follow-up this training with the NRA Basic Pistol Course.
